GREENGUARD Gold Certification

Baby Appleseed stands out among children’s furniture brands with the honor of GREENGUARD Certification, which assures consumers that their certified cribs and baby furniture have the fewest possible pollutants for a truly green environment.

GREENGUARD’s certification cuts through the confusion of marketing eco-claims and helps consumers find manufacturers that truly meet the rigorous standards of sustainability and low-toxicity through independent, third-party testing. All certified products must pass stringent chemical emissions requirements, such as a screening of more than 10,000 volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that can create indoor pollution.

Baby Appleseed has always been driven by our social responsibility to build a new kind of children’s furniture company, so parents could improve upon the classic nursery while making a positive impact on the environment. All of our eco-friendly baby cribs and baby furniture proudly use non-toxic, water-borne finishes along with solid wood construction with non-moving parts, which are safe for children and the planet.

GREENGUARD’s scientific method uses dynamic environmental chambers testing as guided by the US Environmental Protection Agency's (USEPA) testing protocol for furniture, the state of Washington's protocol for interior furnishings and construction materials, Germany's Blue Angel Program, California’s Department of Public Health Services (CDPH) Standard Practice for Specification Section 01350 and the ISO 16000 environmental testing series. Actual product use is reconstructed inside the dynamic environmental chambers, and particle and chemical emissions are measured at specific intervals during strict testing protocols.

The Baby Appleseed GREENGUARD certified baby cribs will add points to established green building programs, satisfy code or ordinance criteria or meet indoor air quality specific RFP requirements.

Caring for the environment and safety has always been a priority at Baby Appleseed.
